About me

Self Scarborough 2018 s

I am a print maker and painter.

I have entered another exciting phase of my professional life. I pursued a robust and enjoyable teaching career after studying Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. I continued to make art throughout and completed an MA at Central St Martins. I exhibited locally around Reading, Newbury, Bracknell and Winchester. The Rising Sun Art Market was a very special venue with proceeds helping to maintain the rich programme of independent, community focussed events. I have now moved to Herefordshire where I feel privileged to have a studio space in my garden.

2023 Updatesketch book

It has been a really enjoyable and personally rewarding year, with new contacts made and some exciting ventures in the pipeline for 2023!  I made contact with Hereford College of Art, courtesy of a visitor to the Kington Art /Craft Market one frosty Saturday. Nicholas heads up the team and they are very keen to provide their past and present students selling opportunities so open up for CMYK festivals twice a year and invite other artists to join them. It’s all about print and illustration and the atmosphere buzzes. I look forward to being part of their next venture!

I am a regular market stall holder at the Kington Art/Craft Markets which are held once a month from March through to December. Through contacts here, I have been approached to join the artists’ Cooperative which runs out of the ‘Made in the Marches Gallery’. This is something very new for me and will also introduce me to other local artists.

Add to this the purchase of some water based printing inks for me to experiment with and I think I am well set up for the start of 2023. I also want to take part in the Church Stretton Arts Festival again this year, beautiful place and a cracking team of volunteers making it tick.
